Fall is my favorite time of year and I believe that Fall starts today. Also really good things happen to me in September. Like getting married, 4 years on the 15th. And having Dixon, 1 year on the 22nd. And finishing school with my Associates in Business on the 12th. And moving back to California in about 3 weeks! September is also right before the month I get my husband back!
Dear September,
You Rock.
The End.
p.s. I still can't say that time has gone by fast for me, because it hasn't. But I feel like I can see the end. Kam is doing good and time is going by really fast for him :) I'm really glad July is here because it will be a busy month for me, then it will be August and then it will be time for me and D to move back to Cali. I am excited to go back to California even if it is 29 Palms. I am ready to live in my own house with my own stuff.
Almost Done
I am also starting my second to last class and I can't wait to be done with school. I hate it. For the past year and half I feel like I always have something hanging over my head i.e. homework. I will only have my associates but if I don't take a break now I will stab my eyes out with pencils. Online classes was pretty much the only option for me because I move sooooo much. I may not hate school so much if I went to an actual campus, but I don't see that happening anytime in the near future.

Accounting is the Bane of my Existance

So I just started my Accounting class last week and it is going to be a rough month. This is not my kind of thing. I will be honest and tell you that in most of my classes I don't read the book, I look up a few things here and there but mostly I just wing it. Im not going to be able to wing it with this class. And to make matters worse I had to order a stupid ebook. ebooks suck. So in order to do my reading assignments I have to be sitting at my computer. Lame. So instead of reading I do things like blog and order new swimsuits.

On a happier note, my Mom bought sidewalk chalk the other day. Its not the glow in the dark kind but I will be getting that later. Me and D were playing with it yesterday morning. D was more interested in eating the chalk than watching me draw.

Rain, rain go AWAY!

For as long as I can remember Malad has always been in a drought. Not enough snow fall, not enough rain, watering restrictions during the summer. Pretty sure the drought is over. It has either rained or snowed everyday since I have moved back. Not cool. Since living in California I have become a wimp when it comes to cold weather. I hate it. All I really want to do is to stand in the sunshine and draw with glow in the dark chalk (have you seen the commercials for that, it looks amazing, and I will totally be buying some. I'm not even going to pretend that it is for Dixon or my nieces and nephews. It will be for me.)
The rain is really messing up my weight loss regime. The regime includes going on a walk and eating less. I do OK with the eating less but I ROCK at walking. But people tend to frown at you if you go walking with your baby during a downpour, so I stopped doing that.
So to sum this post up, mother nature needs to cooperate and bring the sun so I can lose weight and not get Child Protective Services called on me for exposing my child to extreme weather conditions.
P.S. I have lost almost 8 pounds since I joined Weight Watchers. Only 10 to go.

What I've learned in 8 months

Dixon will be 8 months old in 5 days! That is crazy to me. The days seem to take F-o-r-e-v-e-r but the weeks go by so fast. I though I would share some things that I have learned in the past 8 months. Granted it not a lot because D in my first baby and I've only been doing this for 8 months.

Nap time is sacred. I did not fully understand that until D came along and now I count down the hours till it is nap time :)

Take all the advice you get with a grain of salt. I still have a hard time with this one because I live with my parents right now and they obviously know more about babies than me (they had 4). But I also need to remember that I am a good mom and its OK for me to do things my way

Having D on a schedule saves my sanity. But it is also OK to brake the schedule sometimes.

Its OK to ask for help and its OK to ask someone to watch D for a while. I have a hard time with that. Brook ordered my Mom's mothers day present and it was suppose to be here last Friday. We were at the Zoo Friday so there was no one home to sign for it. So now it had to be delivered today. While I was eating lunch in the kitchen (in front of the window) the UPS man (a Malad native) drove past my Moms house. He must have seen me sitting at the table because he stopped, backed up, and pulled into the driveway. When I answered the door the first thing he said to me was "Where is Brook? I have been trying to deliver this package to her house for the past 2 days." I told him Brook works on Mondays. Then the UPS man said "I stopped at the Elementary to have your Mom sign for it, but she wasn't there (she was at a meeting in Idaho Falls.) So I signed for the package and my Mom finally got her late mothers day present and loves it.
Moral of the story: if you live in a small town (Malad) the UPS man will drive around to your families houses and places of employment in order to deliver a package that one of you ordered.

What Happens Next?

I am so incredible proud that our Military was able to kill bin Laden. I can only imagine that there will be some attempts from al-Qaida for retaliation and that scares the crap out of me. Since Kam is in Afghanistan near the boarder of Pakistan I am pretty nervous about these next few weeks.
I haven't heard from Kam since early yesterday morning and I'm pretty sure they are in River City (communication blackout with the States)
So while I am proud and of our Military and know that this is a definite blow to al-Qaida, I can only keep wondering what is going to happen next? If any of these things make you uncomfortable I suggest not reading this post.
I am no longer a lactating member of Society! I made the switch to formula yesterday and luckily for me Dixon loves it. The reason I switched to formula is because D has not gained any weight for about 3 months. He has grown longer and and his head has grown, but no weight gain. D's Dr. recommend supplementing with formula, but I decided to completely switch over. FREEDOM!!!
Now looking back I think my milk supply started to diminish when I started him on solids. He started rice cereal at 4 months, veggies at 5 months, and a few weeks later fruits. Once he started eating solids he wouldn't nurse very long. I still nursed him in the morning yesterday and today because that was the only time I was feeling engorged. I plan on nursing him in the mornings for as long as it takes me to dry up.
Ever since I decided to switch to formula I have been making a Pro/Con list in my head. And now I will share it with you.
Pros

No longer worrying about what I can wear in public that will allow me to nurse modestly

Someone besides me can feed him (now that D is eating formula it would be the prime time for Kamas to feed him, too bad he is gone for the next 6 months)

I can now leave him with a babysitter and not have to worry if I pumped enough milk for him

I don't have to pump anymore

Goodbye nursing bra, Hello new Victoria Secret Very Sexy Push Up Bra (TMI? )

I don't have to worry about him not taking a bottle from someone else (when he was nursing he would only take a bottle from me most of the time)

I can wear what ever dress I want to church

I can wear layers without worrying how I am going to nurse with 3 shirts on

and once again FREEDOM! (the thought just occurred to me that I could now leave D for days at a time without a ton of preparation, not that I would, OK some days that sounds appealing, but I wouldn't do that, probably)

Cons

I now have to buy formula and it is expensive

I had to buy bottles because I only had one

I now have to wash bottles

I no longer get 7 extra points for Weight Watchers

I have to make sure that I have a bottle and formula in my diaper bag when I leave the house

When D eats his bottle he makes a huge mess

I don't really know how much D will drink at meal times so that sometimes leads to wasted formula

No more nursing covers

Formula spit up is way more smelly

The return of Aunt Flo, seriously the day I decided to give D a bottle I got my period, for the first time in over a year (once again, TMI? )

I guess it is a little bitter sweet that Dixon is done nursing, but honestly I am surprised I lasted this long. If I knew that Dixon loved formula I probably would have made the switch sooner. Mostly I am happy to be done nursing, but I am glad that I nursed D for 7 months.

Update

Here is a little update. I don't want to take the time or have the mental capability (last night D hit a new record on how many times a 7 month old baby will wake up-7) to write cohesive paragraphs so I will use bullet points.

I started Weight Watchers last night. I'm excited for it but you can't take kids to the meetings so I'm going to have to figure out what to do with D on Thursday nights.

Both of D's ears are infected and he is teething and that is what is making him a dragon baby. But I think he is starting to feel better

Kamas called and I got to talk to him for about 15 min.

My very awesome sister booked me a hot rock massage today and she is going to watch D.

Part of the reason D woke up so many times last night is because he would wiggle into weird positions and wake himself up

I can't wait for summer to get here because we have a lot of fun things planned

That's all I can think of right now and D is trying to help me type.

Hard

Today I should be doing a million and one things besides this. I should be doing laundry, picking up my room, doing dishes, doing homework. But I can't seem to make myself do any of it. D is sleeping (hallelujah!) This past week he has been hard. He has been one fussy baby for the past week. He has an ear infection but it doesn't seem to be getting any better, so we are going to the Dr. again tomorrow. But this time we are going to Logan to see D's pediatrician. I hope the Dr. can give me some answers because I feel a little (a lot) helpless right now. So far this deployment has been hard, harder than the other two. Partly because I now have D to take care of and partly because In the 3 weeks Kamas has been gone I have yet to talk to him on the phone for longer than a few minutes. The last 2 times Kamas was deployed he had access to a phone everyday and we were able to video chat almost everyday. I took it for granted. I keep waiting for the weeks to go by so I can look back and say, wow that went fast. So far all I can say is, wow this is taking forever. I miss him. And I hate the fact that he is missing D learn new things. I hate the fact that when D says Dada I have to show him a picture of his dad, and I hate the fact the Kamas hasn't heard him say Dada. But I love that Kamas has a job he loves and is proud of. I love that he takes his responsibility to his troops very seriously. I love that he loves me and D and is able to provide for us. Mostly I love him. Being a military wife is hard and lonely, and so very worth it.

Military Spouse Survay

How long have you been a Military Wife? 3 and a half years

What branch of Service is you husband in? Right now I am trying to keep up with my homework, which by the way I turned in this weeks assignment last week so now I hope my teacher will accept last weeks this week. I also have a 6 page paper due in 6 days. And I have to pack up our apartment, turn off utilities, and take care of a sick baby that may or may not have RSV. I am seriously wondering why I thought I could do this school thing right now. I want to wave a magic wand and have all of this be done with :)Lets end on a happy note with picutures of my cute baby.

Things on my Mind

I wonder why in the last 2ish years the thing to do for a lot of women is to start a photography business? I personally suck at taking pictures (most of the pics of D are on my phone) It seems like 1 out of 5 people I know are super in to photography. Don't get me wrong I think it is great and I wish I was better at taking pictures, but I am just confused on where this phenomenon came from.

I am thinking about cutting my hair but I don't want the mom bob, you know the short hair cut women get once they have a baby. I totally understand why you would do it but I like my long hair, I'm just looking for something a little different.

I really want to be better about blogging and I am thinking about posting more about military life. I read a ton of military spouse blogs everyday and I love them. I also need to find my camera cord so I can download pics to my parents computer.

I only have 5 classes left until I have my associates. After that I don't really know what I want to do or what I should get my bachelors in.

I absolutely love it when D takes long naps during the day, Nap time is the Best time :)

I finally ordered an electric breast pump and I think that D is close to being done nursing. Lately he is not too interested and won't nurse for very long.

I think am I going to start weight watchers soon. I want to loose 10-15lbs

I can't wait till it is warm enough to go on walks with D. I hate being stuck in the house all day.

Kamas will be here Saturday morning! We haven't seen each other since January 16.

Happy New Years!

2010 was an eventful year Kamas re-enlisted, found out we were pregnant,we moved to a different base, I started school, had baby D, survived 2 month long field Mojave Vipers, a 10 week school, and many trips to the field. Celebrated 3 years of marriage a week before baby D arrived. We have lived together for over a year for the first time since we were married (kind of if you don't count all the time Kamas had to be gone for weeks at a time). It was a good year.

In 2011 we are facing another 4 weeks of Mojave Viper, packing up and moving, and another deployment this summer. Me and D will be moving back to Malad when Kam leaves, unless Emily miraculously get the basement finished in her new house :) I will get my associates degree in September and D will turn 1. We can expect Kam to be home sometime in the fall/early winter. Mostly I can't wait till this year is almost over so Kam can be back home with us :) Good thing D will keep me busy till then.

Here are some more pics of D because that is what people really want to see :)

Baby Dixon

So this post is waaaay late. About 3 months late :)I had Dixon on September 22 at 2:03 am. He weighed 7 lbs and 14oz and was 21 inches long. The 21st was my due date. On the morning of the 21st I had a Dr. appointment and was 3 cm and 75% effaced. The Dr. stripped my membranes. After I got home I started having contractions but didn't really pay attention to them because they weren't very strong. I texted Kamas about 1pm to let him know that I was having contarctions but they weren't very strong yet so don't worry about coming home yet. (He was at school at Camp Pendleton during the week and only home on the weekends) My Mom called me around 4 p.m. to see how my Dr. appointment was. I told that I thought I was having contractions. She asked how far apart they were and I said that I hadn't been timing them. So then I started timing them and they were about 10 min apart. My mom wanted me to go the hospitial then but I knew that they would just send me home so I waited. I had plans to go to my friend Heather's house for dinner that night. From about 5pm to 8:30 pm my mom and my sisters kept calling me about every half hour telling me to go to the hospitial. I didn't want to go yet because I didn't want to get sent home. I went to Heather's house around 5 and ate dinner and hung out with our friends. By about 8pm the contractions were about 3 to 5min apart and really uncomfortable. By this time Kamas was on his was home but it is about a 2 and half hour drive. I went back to my house and my friend Breanna was nice enough to stay with me. At 8:30 pm I decided that I should go to the hospital. Breanna drove me to the hospital which is about 20 minutes away. Once I was there they checked me and I was at 4 cm and 80% effaced. I had to wait about 20min before they decided to admit me. Once I was finally admitted I was hanging out in my room and Breanna was staying with me until Kamas go there. By now the contractions were strong enough that I couldn't talk during them. I knew I wanted an epidural but had to wait for the anasteialogists to get there. One of the nurses asked if I wanted fentenol (sp?) through my IV. At first I said no I would just wait for the epidural but about 10 min later I changed my mind. The nurse told me it would feel like I had drank 4 margahritas, I told that I have never drank alcohol and she said that it would make me feel really good then. Kamas finally got to the hospital about 11:30 i think. Things got a little blurry for me then. I finally got the fentenol and that made me feel weird and light headed but didn't really do anything for the pain. around midnight I finally got the epidural and felt so good. I was tired so I asked if I could take a nap now. The nurse checked me and and said I was a at a 9 and 100% effaced almost time to push so no nap :( I only pushed about 30 min and Dixon was born! The Dr. layed him on me right after and he pooped and peed all over me.

Some things about Dixon

He is a chubby baby and at his 2 month check up he was in the 97th percentile

Been on 2 plane rides from Palm Springs to Salt lake and back

Found out that he has acid reflux and now had medacine

Got us kicked out of the new Harry potter movie because he had hiccups and onry old man complained

been to a few movies on base and will be good as long as someone is standing up while holding him

would only take a nap if someone was holding him (just today he is on his 3rd nap with out someone holding him!)

Sleeps in his carseat in his crib because of his reflux

rolled over from his belly to back when he was about 2 months old but hasn't done it since

likes the noise of the shower running and sometimes that is the only way to get him to sleep if he is really fussy.

has his dads temper :)

The past 3 months have been a blur but we love him and can't imagine life without him:)

Didn't work

So my master plan didn't work. Here is how this is going to work:

Get up in the morning and clean my apartment (except the floors, I am leaving those for Kam because Sweeping and Swiffering should not be done when 9 months pregnant)

Do Laundry

Start taking Primrose oil pills that Heather gave me, they are suppose to help induce labor

Find the energy to go to the commissary so I will finally have food in this place

Maybe take Zulu on a walk depending on how hot it is outside

I have been telling baby that he had to wait till Friday (tomorrow) because Kam has been in the field since Wednesday and if I went into labor while he was in the field then he wouldn't be able to come.

If for some reason my master plan doesn't work Kamas and I will be going out to dinner because our anniversary was on the 15th (3 years!). We have yet to spend one together, good thing we are married for eternity :) I'm sure we can manage to spend one together eventually.

I did finally finish my 10 page paper. It was due Monday at midnight and I turned it in around 5 pm, plenty of time to spare.

What I Should Be Doing

I should be

working on my 10 page paper that is due Monday, I only have 6 pages left

cleaning

doing laundry

packing my hospital bag

putting dishes away

brushing Zulu

going grocery shopping so I don't have to when baby comes

returning my library books

Instead I am very good at ignoring all of these things while I play on the computer.

Side note: I realize that I am 9 months pregnant but I am always surprised to see how big my my belly is from a side view.

Home Alone

What does an 8 month pregnant woman do when she is home alone during the week? She (I) watches TV, reads, plays on the computer, and thinks about going to the dollar movie on base but can't quite do it alone. You would think that I would use all my spare time to do my homework so I wouldn't have to worry about it when I go into labor. It sounds like a good idea in theory but I like to make life interesting and wait till the last minute.

Some of you may be wondering why I am home alone during the week. It's because Kamas is finally at school for his "new" job. He has been doing on the job training since March and now he gets to go to school for 10 weeks to "learn" about his job. He is able to come home on the weekends, and by weekends I mean he gets home about 8 pm on Friday and leaves about 2pm on Sunday.

Kamas will be able to come home once I am in labor but he will only be able to stay for a day or two. So I am going to be really sure that it is baby time before I tell him to come home :) So we are really hoping that baby decides to have a birthday party on a weekend. But if I do go into labor during the week then I get to call one of the 3 people I put on baby alert.

My "I think the baby is coming" alert list

Heather, because she lives the closest.

Brianna, because she lives the next closest

Tyler, He lives the farthest away and is at work during the day. He is probably the least excited to be on this list :) He did however give me his work phone number so I could get a hold of him during work hours.

This week however it would be all up to Tyler because Heather and Brianna are both on Vacation. They obviously thought that spending time with their families is more important than waiting for a phone call from me j/k :) I still have 5 weeks till my due date.

Being 8 months pregnant makes me a little emotional (that's a shocker). I usually don't cry because I hate it and it doesn't solve anything. But Sunday night I had a minor break down. 8 months pregnant+home alone+feeling sorry for my self+thinking about a 10 page research paper+a naughty dog that wouldn't go to the bathroom= a pity party for me and a confused and helpless husband on the phone. Don't worry now I am over it :)

Here is one thing that I have learned about being pregnant, going to baby classes by yourself can be super awkward. Especially when you are learning about pain management and how your husband can help you. Kind of hard for Kamas to learn those things when he can't make it the class. Super awkward for me because I had no one to practice with in class. Luckily this week we are learning about epidurals, so hopefully there will be no practicing because it would really be hard to drive home if I couldn't feel my legs.

Update

A little update on what we have been up to since I last posted. We went to Malad for the 4th of July. It was the first one the Kam and I have spent together since being married. Kam could only stay for a week and then he had to be back in California for a month long training. I stayed in Malad and hung out with family and friends. I also had 2 baby showers while I was in Malad and baby got a lot of cute stuff. I can't wait till he is here and I get to use it all. I only have about 7 weeks left but it seems like forever :)
My mom, Beth, and Brenna drove me back to California the end of July. We went to a huge outlet mall, went to the beach, and went to sea world. It was a lot of fun to have a girl trip.
That is about all of the fun stuff happening with us.

So I am not very good at keeping up my blogging. A few of the things we have done since my last post

Went to a concert on base, Joe Nichols and Juliann Hough. All the signs said activities started at 4 but in fact the concert didn't start till 8 so we had a long wait.

On Memorial day Kam and Ty were able to get into Knotts Soak City( a water park in Plam Springs) for free and I was able to get in at a discounted price. It was pretty fun except my legs got really burnt.

Im still going to school and Kam is still working.

I am continualy amazed at how big my belly is getting.

I thought we had decided on a name for baby but Kam has changed his mind. I like the name Mason and Kam had decided he likes the name Mavrick. I think I am going to win this battle.

I think we have all of the big stuff for baby (crib, car seat, stroller, swing, changing table, ect.) Now we are just buy clothes and diapers.

The first part of June Kams family came to visit and to watch Kam and Ty run the Mud Run at Camp Pendleton.

What is growing in my belly?

A baby boy! We are really excited to be having a boy. Kam wasn't going to be able to go to the ultrasound with me because he is in a 3 week course to be a range coach and he can't miss a day. My appointmnet was at 12 and I texted him when I got to the hospital. He sent me one back saying he wouldn't be able to make it. So the ultrasound tech started and was checking everything. After about 30 min she said I needed to get up and walk around becasue she couldn't get a good picture of his heart. When I walked out the door Kam was walking down the hall, he had got out of class early. I told Kam that we were having a boy and he thought I was joking. After about 10 minutes walking around I went back and finished the ultrasound. The ultrasound tech was nice and let Kam hear the heart beat and showed him that the baby really was a boy :) We were both glad that Kam was able to be there for some of the ultrasound.

This is me at 22 weeks.

Idaho and Birthday

I went to walmart yesterday wearing my BYU-I shirt and an old man had to stop and tell me his life story because he was from Idaho too. He even knows where Malad is.

Kamas finally got home last night at 10:30. He had been in the field since Sunday morning. Also yesterday was his birthday. It was his first birthday that we were able to spend (kind of) together since we started dating. He has always been gone. He request for cake was a White cake mix with half chocolate and half white frosting. I think he was being sarcastic when he told me that, but that is what I made him and he will love it. :) I also got him an airsoft pistol and told him that he can't shoot me or Zulu or I will throw it away.

I am on a roll with 2 posts in one week.

Baby things

There are a few things that have been on my mind latley. They all basicaly have to do with the baby growing inside of me (weird)

Sometimes i think that i am still only 18 and that it weird for me to be pregnant. Then i remember that I am 22 and I have been married for 2 and a half years.

being pregnant makes me forget things, a lot. This sucks because Kamas can't remember things either. It is amazing that things get done around here at all.

I am addicted to Food Network. I watch it a lot ( i won't tell you how many hours cuz that would be embarassing)

I should stop watching it because it makes me crave the food they show.

Sometimes i have to remind Kam that I am pregnant and that in september the baby will be here for the rest of our lives. example: The Marine Corps Ball is held every year in November. It is manditory for Kam to go. There is a chance that this year it will be in Vegas. At first Kam thinks this is a great idea, then i remind him that we will have a 2 month old baby. Obviously Kam cant miss the ball, so he is thinking to himself that he will just have to go and leave me home with baby. I, however, corrected him and told him baby and i will be going Vegas (or where ever the ball is going to be). I am more than happy to chill in a hotel room with baby while he goes to the ball. Then he has a great idea that we could fly a family member to where ever the ball is and they can watch baby while we go to the ball. We are problem solvers. I will let you know how this turns out but you will have to wait till November.

Zulu knows that there is something different because when ever i sit down she has to be right by me or on my lap. Someone is going to have a hard time adjusting to baby.

I have to soak in the tub daily because baby makes my back ache constantly. Kam makes fun of me because i will soak in the tub for a while then get out and get in the shower. Taking baths creep me out because you can't get clean while sitting in dirty butt water. I learned that from my dad when i was little. As a result I have not taken a bath since i was about 9.

We bought diapers at walmart the other day. Kam thought it was weird.

I have a limited amount of shirts that i can wear because all of my "normal" shirts look like i bought a size too small. Not a good look.

I am sooo sick of flinstone vitamins. I take those instead of regular pre-natal vitamins. Don't worry I have had 3 doctors and 3 nurses tell me that they are just fine to take as pre-natal vitamins. (my mom, however, remains to be convinced)

I have a body pillow to sleep with but sometimes at night Kam will steal it from me.

Not looking forward to being pregnant all summer long in the desert. it is already about 80 here. Awesome for me.

I have found out that i cannot eat at taco time or taco bell because i will immediatly throw up after. this makes me sad because i love soft bean burritos. Also chocolate doughnuts and velveeta for dinner not a good idea.

That pretty much emptied my mind of pregnant things. School is going good. Kam likes his new job because he is outside alot and doing manly things with tools and stuff. ( this shows you how much i know about his new job. I do ask questions but sometimes when he explains things to me it just sounds like gobbly gook) He had a hallilujah moment one day because he has not had to touch a computer for work since he got here. Now i am going to go to bed and hopefuly tomorrow I can remember to take the trash cans to the curb so the garbage man can empty them.

*disclaimer* I don't pay much attention to spelling or correct grammer when blogging. Just be happy i blogged.

Heaven on a plate

So we have been in Jousua Tree for about a month now. Before we moved all of our friends at Camp Pedleton kept telling us that it is going to be horrible. But when you grow up in Malad moving to Joshua Tree is not such a big deal. I mean there is a walmart 10 minutes away! Here are a few pics of JT

I have finally started online classes with Ashford Univeristy. I am almost done with my first class which has been pretty easy. I am a little afraid for my next class because it is econ. Not one of my favorites in high school. Because Kam is a Marine I get my books for free and credits are cheaper too. So that is pretty awesome.

I finally was able to see the baby dr on the 9th. Everything is good, we listened to the heartbeat which is cool. It reasures me that there really is a baby inside me. It is weird for me to think about a baby floating around inside. I think I have felt baby move it feels like something twitching or sometimes like there is a bubble inside of me. Crazy. We get to find out the sex on May 17. Most of my family think its going to be a boy. Evvie told me that she would babysit and that I should name the baby "one"

Kamas decided a couple months ago that he could groom Zulu instead of taking her somewhere. The first couple times it worked out ok. Then Kam decided to shave Zulu's beard and it still hasn't grown back. She looks silly. Also I tried to brush her the other day and the fur on her legs was really matted so we decided to shave her legs. and now she looks even more silly because she has little chicken legs. I am going to wait a few weeks and then take her to be professonaly groomed.

This post has been pretty random and to my best writing. But I don't feel like going back and fixing it:)

Also if you have never eaten at the Cheesecake Factory you must do so immediatley. It will change your life. You have to actually eat there not just get cheesecake. Kam and I ate there last weekend and it was like chicken heaven on a plate. Amazing.

Enjoy

So once again I have not kept up with my blogging. No real excuses just didn't do it. But there has been quiet a lot happening with us so here is the update.

Kamas re-enlisted for another 4 years with the Marine Corp. He is changing his job from maintiance managment ( lots of paper and desk work) to AAV crewman (lots of excitment)

I am 9 weeks pregnant. But I have yet to see a OBGYN because tricare is awesome like that. I will finally see one on March 2nd when I will be 11 weeks. Fantastic

We are moving to the desert. Kamas and I will be stationed at 29 Palms, Ca. Don't know where that is, google it. Then you will see the awesomeness of where we will be living. You will be jelous.

I got a job here in Fallbrook as an after school program employee. I just started in the middle of Jan. and now I will be leaving the first part of March. So that was short lived.

I didn't have morning sickness until my sister told me she threw up 3 times a day then I started to throw up everyday.

I will be flying home in May to watch Fifi (Beth) in Jr. Miss and will stay for a week. I am leaving Kamas in the desert.

Kamas has recorded and watched all of the olympics so far. He loves it.

I think that is all that has been happening. Enjoy this post because who knows when I will post again.

Things I think about before I go to sleep

I like to decorate my bathrooms in a striped theme (thats right I said bathrooms, I have 2, and that makes me feel fancy)

I can't believe that Kam and I did all our Christmas shopping in one day. I don't know why because I am home all day so I have plenty of time to do it. So here is my almost New Years resolution-I will blog at least once a week. Starting now. So here is what has been going on with us.

Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving we stayed in California and went to our friends, T.J. and Brittany, house. They had invited some single Marines that Brittany works with. I was in charge of pies, rolls, and cornbread. For the first time in my life(maybe not the first time, but definitely in the top 5) I felt like a grown-up because I was responsible for bringing food to a holiday dinner. So I made 4 homemade* pies. Feel free to tell me how awesome I am for doing that. I made Chocolate, Apple, Banana, and Pumpkin. The cornbread was also homemade and the rolls were Pillsbury. It was a good dinner and we had a lot of fun. After dinner we played rockband for hours. We didn't take home any leftovers because we let the single Marines take the leftovers back to the barracks. We are so giving. * the pie crusts were store bought, because it is crazy to make those

Black Friday

I was dreading Black Friday because I didn't want to deal with all the craziness. But Kamas was excited because he loves a good deal. So to solve this dilemma it was decided that I would go home and Kamas would stay at T.J. and Brittanys. Then Kam and T.J. would get and brave the crowds. This worked out great for everyone. I got to sleep in and Kamas got a sweet deal on a printer and T.J. and Britt got to come over for breakfast.

New Moon

I drug Kamas to New Moon the night it opened. I bought my tickets online a few days before and we still had to wait in line for an hour to get into the theater. The movie was pretty sweet. Just for the record I'm team Jacob.

Weekend Adventures

We have been going out with friends or by ourselves pretty much ever weekend Kamas has been home. It has been a lot of fun. We love to go to movies and out to dinner. We have had a few cookouts with friends. Going bowling on base it pretty sweet because none of us is very good.

Trees for Troops

Once again this year I did the whole stand in line at the butt crack of dawn to get a free Christmas tree thing. Fed Ex gives out free real trees to Marine families every year. To get one you have to get up really early and stand in line to get a ticket for a tree. They hand out tickets at 7:30 a.m. I was in line at 6:10 and I was number 110. They give out about 900 trees. This year was fun because I conned my friend Tiffany into going with me. While we were waiting for the trees to arrive we entered drawings and we both won a set of ornaments. We climbed a rock wall, got a free toothbrush, a gift card for a free shake at Jonny Rockets and free mints. All before noon.

Job

So I got a job with the after School program here in Fallbrook. I will be working with 4th-6th graders before and after school. I will be helping them with homework and organizing games and such. However I won't start working for a while because I have to have a background check and drug tests and all that jazz. So I am waiting for a call to set up those appointments. Hopefully by Feb will start working.

Christmas Parade

We once again went to the Fallbrook Christmas Parade this year and invited some friends to watch it with us. This year we were way more prepared with chairs and coats and blankets and hot chocolate. It was a good time. I only took 3 pictures and I can't find the camera I took them with so no pictures. The parade lasted about an hour and a half. There were lots of classic cars and dancers and horses and school bands and such. After the parade everyone came back to our apartment and we grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. Then we played my favorite game Discombobulation. We ended the night with brownies and ice cream.

Church Calling

We have only been in Fallbrook since October and I already have a church calling. They don't wast any time here. I am the CTR 6 primary teacher. So far it has been good. I only have boys in my class and they are pretty funny. So far I have only had 3 kids in my class so that has made it pretty easy.

I think that is all that has been going on. We have been slackers with our picture taking. Hence the lack of pictures for this post. Kamas and I have yet to start our Christmas shopping and we only have one weekend to do it before we head for Idaho. Wish us luck.

The Ball

The Marine Corp Birthday Ball was last Wednesday, November the 4th, which is weird because the real birthday of the Marine corp is on November 10th. Anyway the ball was at the Pechenga Indian Casio and Resort in Temecula. It was a good time and for once the food was good. The past 2 balls I have been to the food is not so good. This year was a lot of fun because we were at a table with a lot of friends and they were pretty funny. The table ended up being divided into to sides. The Mexicans and the Mormons. The Mormon side was told that there was milk to drink if we wanted to come to an after party. But we declined :) It was a fun night even though we didn't win anything at the raffel this year. The wind was blowing that day, hence the hair in my face, but these are the pictures we have of us that day. We dont know what is going on in the second picture. We only have these two pictures because Kamas was eager to get back to the hotel. After all he had been gone for 7 months.

Here is a cute picture of us with no wind and we are both looking at the camera. So we bought me a Springfield XD in a .40 cal. It is a sub-compact which means that it has a smaller barrel so I can put it in my purse :). And it is really fun to shot. We also did a little trap shooting with Kamas's family. I am hard core as you can tell from these pictures.

The first picture shows what can happen in you mount a scope too too far back. When the gun recoils the scope will hit you in the head. So let this be a warning to everyone on the that dangers of scopes, not guns, just scopes. In the second picture Kam is shooting his "sinper" rifle ( the one with the dangerous scope). Apparently you have to be laying down to shot this gun and if you a super prepared you happen to have a piece of carpet with you so you don't have to lay on the rocks. The last picture is Kam shooting one of his pistols. He was trying to look hard core like me.

So now you have seen an overview of the past couple weeks of our lives. Tomorrow we leave for Washington D.C. for a week. Soon. I was on myspace and saw that one of his friends just got home and that is when it hit me. It now seems like it is really happening. I can't and won't tell you when he will be home. First because I don't have an exact date and second security reasons. Now that I look back at the summer it seems like time has gone by fast and slow all at the same time. So now I will tell you some of the non-obvious (sp)reasons I am excited to have Kam home

I hate driving and Kamas likes to drive

Someone else can take Zulu out to the bathroom

He can wash the car and truck about a million times better than I can

He will kill spiders

He likes to cook

He helps with laundry-kind of (he will only fold his own clothes)

We will be back in California!

When I wear high-hills I can hold on to him so I don't fall

He loves going to movies as much as I do

He can carry the heavy groceries

And of course I am excited to have him home for the obvious reasons, but I won' t list those because I want to keep this post PG.

One small thing I am not excited for-moving

So I suck at Blogging

As the title says I have sucked at blogging for the past few months. So here is the update. I am working at Thomas Market again this summer. I guess its not too bad for a few more months. It looks like I will be staying in Malad till October which kind of sucks. Kamas is doing good and is pretty busy right now. He got promoted to Corpral finally! It was a long time coming and we are so glad that is has finally happened. In other news I have started the HCG diet and it is working wonderfully. I started at 155 pounds and I am now down to 144. I still have about 14 more pounds to lose I guess I will keep on truckin. Zulu is good and is starting to listen to me a little better. But she is cute so I guess I will keep her. That is about all that is going on in our lives. Sorry for no pictures but I am lazy and don't want to wait for them to download. But hey, at least I blogged.

It's Official

I am moving back to Cali until July. It still pretty much sucks having him gone. I think of a million things to say to him through out the day and then when we talk its like I have gone brain dead. I am hard pressed for conversation. I'm not sure why this is but I find it pretty annoying. Also if you know Kam he hates talking on the phone, but luckily we have webcams. So he is a little more inclined to talk if I can see him. Also I can tell when he is distracted and then I put him in his place. I remind him that he should be talking to his awesome wife and not checking his email :)

As for me I am a substitute teacher for elementary, middle school, and the high school. I usually sub 2 days a week. It is good for right now. In June I will be joining Team Thomas again. I could be working there right now but that would be more fun than I can handle at the moment. Zulu is pretty much potty trained now. She and Nitro are best friends and play all the time. I am so ready for summer. I told my family that if it snows again will be moving back to Cali until July.

The past 4 weeks

So the past 4 weeks have been a bit crazy. We came home leave to visit the fams. On our way home we got a puppy. She is a Mini schnauzer named Zulu. Then we went back to Cali for a week to pack up our apt and put everything in storage. Kamas left on the 15th. I moved back in with my parents while Kamas is gone. Since I have been home I have been subbing at the Elementary, Middle, and High School. I also have been potty training my puppy. Here are some pictures. I forgot my camera the day Kamas left so I don't have any pictures of that.

Kaileyah, Ethan, and Zulu Zulu Me and Kamas at Joes Crab Shack

Just Stuff

So these next couple weeks are going to be crazy. We are getting a puppy on Saturday on our way home to visit the fam for a week. When we get back to Cali we will be packing up our apartment and sending Kamas off. Not really looking forward to that. Things have been pretty quite here. I should be packing things up and getting ready for our trip home, but once I start it will make it all seem too real. I keep thinking that I have done this before it shouldn't be as hard as the first time. One posative thing is that Kam is not as stressed as he was last year because he knows whats going on and what he needs to pack. That makes things easier. The days are going by way too fast. Anyway time to stop feeling sorry for my self and do what needs to be done.

p.s. They wanted to see Kam before he leaves. They stayed with us in out tiny apartement. It was pretty fun and not nearly as bad as I thought it would be sharing a bathroom with four boys. We did some fun stuff, the first night they were here we went to a movie and out to eat. We went to Ruby's that is on the end of the pier. However it was raining and it is a long walk so we all were soaked.

Saturday morining Kam woke up early and went to the store to get me flowers for Valentines, then we went to an indoor go-cart place and raced each other. That was a lot of fun because the go-carts go 40-45 mph. I threatened the boys with bodily harm if they bumbed me while we were racing. They avoided me. We ate lunch and BS'ed for and hour and a half. Later that day we went to visit our Aunt and Uncle, we talked to them for a few hours and ate pizzia with them. Needless to say it wasn't that romantic, so this weekend we are going on a late Valentines date.

Sunday they boys decided to put a leveling kit on Kam's truck. There is a place on base that will let you use tools and a lift for $5 an hour. They are all mechanics so they said it would take only 20 minutes. That was a lie it took 2 and a half hours! I occasonaly ran the lift but most of the time I had nothing to do but wait. I have no idea who these people were. Sometimes I just rummage through the blogging world and see what is out there. Anyway back to the list, instead of making new years resoultions these are things I will not be doing:
<span style="font-family:trebuchet new place called Boomers. It has go-carts, miniture golf, batting cages, arcaed games, and lazer tag. We first went there last weekend with Brittney and TJ and played Mini golf. I was awesome and got 2 holes in one. Yes, I am that good. Then we went to the go-carts and Kamas asked if I wanted to drive and I told "sure" aparently he didn't think I would want to and was just asking to be nice. Needless to say I sat in the passanger seat and Kamas drove. Then I spotted the batting cages. I was really excited because I love to play softball. Kam and I decided to hit a few. However I didn't read the sign and I was trying to hit a baseball at 70 mph with a 20 pound bat. The girl at the counter must have thought that I was freakishly strong. I am not. It was fun and the next day I was really sore. Then on Monday Kamas gets home from work and after about an hour he decides he is board and wants to go back to Boomers to the batting cages. This time I read the sign for softball and had a normal sized bat. But it was slow pitch softball. Anyway it was fun to go out and do something different for a change.

Superbowl Sunday!

This is Beast, I drove his car.

Today we went to our friends house to watch the superbowl. It was neat to look around but we only stayed for about an hour. Then we drove over the Coronado bridge to eat lunch. Then we went to Horton Plaza which is a giant mall in the gaslamp district of San Diego and watched Mall Cop. I wasn't that impressed with the movie. And sorry to tell you that we forgot our camera so no pictures of our adventure today.

So this is off the subject but every once in a while when we walk into our Apartment is smells like someone has spilled nail polish remover. We figure the smell is comming throught the vents but there is really nothing we can do about it. Also our bathroom smells sweet/smokey or as some people describe it like copenhagen. Once again the smell is probably comming through the vents and nothing we can do about it. These are my pet peves for the past month, but we will be moving in about a month and a half so we will just live through it.

More of the Holidays

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5290547587194643090" style="WIDTH: 200px; It was fun to be with all the family. We were home for about a week. Unfortunatly we had to drive instead of fly. But it turned out ok. We spent Christmas eve at the annual Daniels Family Christmas party. It was a good time. Christmas morning was at the Reels house. We had to wait a while to open presents because Kamas and Trevor went into town to get Gavin from his moms house. But it was snowing like crazy and it took a while to get into town and then on the way out they stopped to try and help someone stuck in the snow. After trying for an hour they couldn't get the guy out of the snow bank so he called his family to come and get him. After we opened presents Kam and I headed into my parents house for Christmas Dinner. Only a few people were able to make it because everyone else was snowed in. But it was a good time.

For New Years we went to Las Vegas with Brittney and TJ. We stayed for 2 nights. It was fun and a little crazy. The strip on New Years Eve was pretty crazy and packed there was hardly any room move. Needless to say there were a lot of drunk people. The next day we met up with Matt, Kendall, Wendy, and their friends. We went to the Mall and then rode the rides on top of the Stratosphere. We rode the Big shot and Insanity. They were fun but also way scary. I was a good time. But I am glad to be home.

Sad Day

Kamas after coming in from the rain it was crazy

Today we were going to go to Sea World. But it was and still is raining. Every year active duty military famlies can go to Sea World for free. We hadn't used our free tickets yet and Kamas has the day off so it was a good plan. But when I woke up this morning to get ready it was pouring rain. We waited for a couple of hours to see if stop, it didn't. We then went to the grocery store on base. By this time it was like a monsoon. When we got back to our Apartment it took a couple trips to get the groceries and by the time we were done we were both soaked. There was a concert on the temple grounds. It was a hand bell concert, people ring bells. That is all it is. It was actually pretty good. It lasted for about an hour. The temple grounds were pretty but nothing like Temple Square in Salt Lake. It was pretty fun and a cheap date. We got lost on the way home because we didn't know how to get back on the 5. But after about 20 minutes we found our way. On the way home we stopped at Carles Jr. to eat because we are cheap like that :) Back at our Apartment we met our downstairs neighbors. They had some friends over were playing rummy. We joined them and kicked butt because some of them were enjoying alcoholic beverages. Because Kam and I don't drink we able to keep up with the game a little better. But they were very nice and we may be possibly invited to dinner at a later date.

Fallbrook Christmas Parade

Last night we went to the Christmas Parade here in Fallbrook ( where we live). I was pretty excited because I love anything Christmas. Luckily Main Street is only a few blocks from where we live so we were able to walk. However we did not go prepared. We are use to the Malad Christmas Parade that takes about 20 minutes. The Fallbrook one takes about 2 hours. We didn't bring any chairs or our camera. Even though this is California it still gets kind of chilly once the sun goes down and we didn't have any jackets. We arrived on Main Street a little after 4 pm. The parade started around 5. There were a ton of people already set up on the sidewalks when we got there but we had a good view. The parade started with the Marine Corps Band which was pretty awesome. There were a ton of classic cars, lots of fire trucks, classic fire trucks even a horse drawn fire wagon. There were Marching bands from different schools, fire baton twirlers, folk dancers, Native American dancers, even the Budwiser clidesdales (not sure how to spell that) were there. It was a pretty awesome parade. I really wish we would have remebered our camera. Hopefully next year we will be here and we will definatley go prepared.

The Christmas Tree Story

I have wanted a Christmas tree since Halloween. I love Christmas and last year we had a tiny tree, it was maybe a foot tall. That was the only decoration we had because we were going home for Christmas. This year I decided that it would be different, even we are still going home for Christmas I wanted to decorate. Our budget is kind of tight so I went to the Dollar Tree and actually found some cute things to decorate out little Apartment. But I still didn't have a Christmas tree. Then on Thursday when Kamas came home form work he asked if I still wanted a tree, and I said I did. Then he asked how bad I wanted one, because I would have to be on base at 6 am. Every year Fedex and other sponsers give out free Christmas trees to the troops. So Friday morning I wake up at 5 and drive to base and stand in line, not for a tree but for a ticket for a tree. I then had to go back to base at 10 to pick up my tree. When I got there about 9:30 there we at least 200 people there. They had activities for kids and give aways and booths set up. I felt kind of awkward because I was there by myself. Finally the trees arrive about a half hour late. We then had to stand in line while the trees were unloaded. There were about 1000 trees to unload. Luckily I was number 40 so I didn't have to wait forever. When it was my turn I handed over my ticket and picked out a tree. So now we have our tree and I love it.

So there is not much going on. Thanksgiving was good we went to our Aunts house here in California. It was nice to have somewhere to go. I'm excited for Christmas. We are driving home because by the time Kamas had leave approved tickets were too expensive. I have made the drive from Idaho to California more times than I can count and I really hate it. But I'm excited to be home for Christmas. This year I'm going to try and talk Kamas into letting us get a tree. Since we are not going to be here for Christams day he thinks it is kind of pointless. It was fun and good to see the family, but it is good to be home. We went to our new ward here in Fallbrook. There are a ton of Military in our new ward. We flew in thursday and it was a long day. It started at 3 am. We drove to our Aunts house and left our car there, she drove us to the train station. At the train station we almost missed our train because our debit cards wouldn't work, so we couldn't buy our tickets. Finally 10 minutes before the train left Kamas took off running to a gas station 3 blocks away. There he got an ATM to work and ran back with some cash. We rode the train into San Diego and then caught a bus to the Airport and then got on our plane. All before 9 Am. Once we got to Salt Lake Kamas's parents picked us up. Then we headed to Cabelas with the intent to buy a gun for Kamas. After being there for 2 plus hours the only gun that was bought was one for Kamas's brother, Tyler. On the way home from Cabellas we stopped to look at trucks. . . and then we bought a truck. So we finally arrived in Malad at 1 AM. Almost 24 hours after we had started our trip home. Now we are here with a new truck and no new gun.

Just some pictures

We have a ton of pictures and all of them are on the computer and non of them are actually printed off. I have been thinking about having a blog for a while, and now that we are living in California, I have the time. I am gainfully unemployed because we only have one car and my husband takes it to work. Needless to say I have a lot of time on my hands. You can only clean a 710 square foot apartment so many times :) Another reason to start blogging: I am married and should no longer have a myspace and facebook account. But I am only 20 and that is how I stay in touch with my friends. Now I have the best of both worlds...
