Sad Day

Kamas after coming in from the rain it was crazy
Today we were going to go to Sea World. But it was and still is raining. Every year active duty military famlies can go to Sea World for free. We hadn't used our free tickets yet and Kamas has the day off so it was a good plan. But when I woke up this morning to get ready it was pouring rain. We waited for a couple of hours to see if stop, it didn't. We then went to the grocery store on base. By this time it was like a monsoon. When we got back to our Apartment it took a couple trips to get the groceries and by the time we were done we were both soaked. So much for Sea World:(

San Diego Temple

Last night we went to the San Diego Temple. There was a concert on the temple grounds. It was a hand bell concert, people ring bells. That is all it is. It was actually pretty good. It lasted for about an hour. The temple grounds were pretty but nothing like Temple Square in Salt Lake. It was pretty fun and a cheap date. We got lost on the way home because we didn't know how to get back on the 5. But after about 20 minutes we found our way. On the way home we stopped at Carles Jr. to eat because we are cheap like that :) Back at our Apartment we met our downstairs neighbors. They had some friends over were playing rummy. We joined them and kicked butt because some of them were enjoying alcoholic beverages. Because Kam and I don't drink we able to keep up with the game a little better. But they were very nice and we may be possibly invited to dinner at a later date.

Fallbrook Christmas Parade

Last night we went to the Christmas Parade here in Fallbrook ( where we live). I was pretty excited because I love anything Christmas. Luckily Main Street is only a few blocks from where we live so we were able to walk. However we did not go prepared. We are use to the Malad Christmas Parade that takes about 20 minutes. The Fallbrook one takes about 2 hours. We didn't bring any chairs or our camera. Even though this is California it still gets kind of chilly once the sun goes down and we didn't have any jackets. We arrived on Main Street a little after 4 pm. The parade started around 5. There were a ton of people already set up on the sidewalks when we got there but we had a good view. The parade started with the Marine Corps Band which was pretty awesome. There were a ton of classic cars, lots of fire trucks, classic fire trucks even a horse drawn fire wagon. There were Marching bands from different schools, fire baton twirlers, folk dancers, Native American dancers, even the Budwiser clidesdales (not sure how to spell that) were there. It was a pretty awesome parade. I really wish we would have remebered our camera. Hopefully next year we will be here and we will definatley go prepared.

The Christmas Tree Story

I have wanted a Christmas tree since Halloween. I love Christmas and last year we had a tiny tree, it was maybe a foot tall. That was the only decoration we had because we were going home for Christmas. This year I decided that it would be different, even we are still going home for Christmas I wanted to decorate. Our budget is kind of tight so I went to the Dollar Tree and actually found some cute things to decorate out little Apartment. But I still didn't have a Christmas tree. Then on Thursday when Kamas came home form work he asked if I still wanted a tree, and I said I did. Then he asked how bad I wanted one, because I would have to be on base at 6 am. Every year Fedex and other sponsers give out free Christmas trees to the troops. So Friday morning I wake up at 5 and drive to base and stand in line, not for a tree but for a ticket for a tree. I then had to go back to base at 10 to pick up my tree. When I got there about 9:30 there we at least 200 people there. They had activities for kids and give aways and booths set up. I felt kind of awkward because I was there by myself. Finally the trees arrive about a half hour late. We then had to stand in line while the trees were unloaded. There were about 1000 trees to unload. Luckily I was number 40 so I didn't have to wait forever. When it was my turn I handed over my ticket and picked out a tree. So now we have our tree and I love it.

So there is not much going on. Thanksgiving was good we went to our Aunts house here in California. It was nice to have somewhere to go. I'm excited for Christmas. We are driving home because by the time Kamas had leave approved tickets were too expensive. I have made the drive from Idaho to California more times than I can count and I really hate it. But I'm excited to be home for Christmas. This year I'm going to try and talk Kamas into letting us get a tree. Since we are not going to be here for Christams day he thinks it is kind of pointless. We will see how it goes.

Marine Corps Ball

Last night we went to the Marine Corp Ball. It was pretty fun. The ceremony(spelling?) was nice and the speeches were short so we didn't have to wait forever for dinner. Luckily this year we were at the same table as some of our friends. There was also a raffel and we won a $100 gift certificate to any of the stores on base, so I bought me a new purse. I'm pretty excited about it. Here are some pictures.

Back In California

We are back in California after spending 2 weeks in Malad. It was fun and good to see the family, but it is good to be home. We went to our new ward here in Fallbrook. There are a ton of Military in our new ward. That is a nice change from our old ward in Vista. We were in the Vista ward for about 5 months and ever week we went people asked us if we were new or if we were visiting. That didn't make it very easy to go every week. But our new ward is a vast improvment. Nothing else is really going on. . .

Malad

So we are now in the Malad. We flew in thursday and it was a long day. It started at 3 am. We drove to our Aunts house and left our car there, she drove us to the train station. At the train station we almost missed our train because our debit cards wouldn't work, so we couldn't buy our tickets. Finally 10 minutes before the train left Kamas took off running to a gas station 3 blocks away. There he got an ATM to work and ran back with some cash. We rode the train into San Diego and then caught a bus to the Airport and then got on our plane. All before 9 Am. Once we got to Salt Lake Kamas's parents picked us up. Then we headed to Cabelas with the intent to buy a gun for Kamas. After being there for 2 plus hours the only gun that was bought was one for Kamas's brother, Tyler. On the way home from Cabellas we stopped to look at trucks. . . and then we bought a truck. So we finally arrived in Malad at 1 AM. Almost 24 hours after we had started our trip home. Now we are here with a new truck and no new gun.

Just some pictures

We have a ton of pictures and all of them are on the computer and non of them are actually printed off. So I thought that I would add some pictures, enjoy!

I have been inspired

So I was just looking at my sisters blog and I decided if she could do it, I can too. I have been thinking about having a blog for a while, and now that we are living in California, I have the time. I am gainfully unemployed because we only have one car and my husband takes it to work. Needless to say I have a lot of time on my hands. You can only clean a 710 square foot apartment so many times :) Another reason to start blogging: I am married and should no longer have a myspace and facebook account. But I am only 20 and that is how I stay in touch with my friends. Now I have the best of both worlds...
